Great Gray Owl-Tree-Top Landing by Wyld-Art-Photography Great Gray Owl-Tree-Top Landing by Wyld-Art-Photography
I managed to spend a few hours with these awesome owls a few weeks ago. Next weekend, I am heading north for another 5 day photo-run to see if I can see them again.

Magnificent shot Art!

bought a new lens tonight.... 70 - 300mm IS canon lens. This will be my roaming around the thick stuff lens! lot easier than dragging that big lens and tripod.

You're welcome Art, and Thanks... yeah it was time for an update and I'm not getting any younger...
I just found it really cumbersome at times with the big rig and tripod... not the ideal set up for swamp slumping and marsh wandering.I have had to back track a few times instead of jumping the stream, while carrying the Telephoto, now I can just jump, and keep going.

I know a lot of people that have the 500 and 600, super awesome lenses, but I really like the 400 for it's mobility. I have taken some nasty spills going thru the bush and it's light enough that I can hold it up while I roll around on the ground,,,lol

Oh Yeah... I love my 600mm, but there were times it just didn't let get to where I wanted. This new one will be so much better for jumping those grass hummocks in the marsh and crossing the streams I find there. This has just enough magnification to make it Ideal for some of the places I have in mind for exploring!
